As a social worker, you need skills in emotional intelligence, communication, organization, and problem-solving, all combined with a desire to help individuals, groups and communities. You also need a master’s degree and two years of supervised experience in clinical settings. You’ll gain those skills in the master of social work (MSW) program. You can enter the program with a bachelor’s degree in a variety of academic subjects, including economics, political science, psychology, and sociology.
The program prepares you to pursue your license and embark on a career in advanced social work. It promotes the integration of classroom learning with real-world experiences in practicum settings to equip you for the situations you’re likely to encounter in professional social work practice.
